Copperwell Industries drilled into Fernwood Grove looking for ore. They went too deep.

Skyburrower is a side-scrolling shoot-'em-up where you pilot Meadow, a courier pilot turned reluctant hero, through a forest that's turning against him. Something ancient woke up beneath the trees, and its corruption is spreading: feral wildlife, rogue mining machines, storms that shouldn't exist, and worse things still buried underground.

Guide your ship with the mouse, blast through waves of corrupted creatures and machines, and spend the coins you collect on permanent upgrades: more health, harder-hitting bullets, faster fire rate, extra shots, and more, as you push deeper into the blight.

FEATURES

  • Fast, fluid mouse-controlled flight through 4 distinct worlds: Fernwood Grove, ThunderCloud Ravine, The Copperdelve, and The Ashwood
  • A cast of corrupted enemies, from feral moths and turret plants to rogue mining drones and storm-charged crabs
  • Four boss encounters, each one a living piece of the story
  • A persistent upgrade system — health, bullet strength, bullet speed, bullet count, movement speed, magnetism, and luck
  • A world map to track your progress and revisit levels
  • A story told through dialogue between Meadow and Mystery, the engineer who built his ship and is watching his back from home

Copperwell left something behind that they were too scared to finish. Now it's Meadow's problem.

AI disclosure: I made the backgrounds, sprites, and bullets myself, and all of the music is mine too. The ThunderCloud Ravine art was done by Alberto Garcia. I had AI assistance with the boss art and animations, and used AI as a coding assistant throughout development.
